Is it safe to send your kids to school

Summer is finally over, so to speak, but we had our chance for making amazing memories for the year 2020 (it was super fun indeed). As the new season is approaching, good times and sunny vibes must come to an end to welcome new beginnings. This pandemic poses a lot of changes in our daily routines that ultimately showed us how to adapt to new normal. But the question remains, is it safe to send your kids in school? The fear for the health safety of our kids are upon our shoulders. One of which is that social distancing might not be practice thus posing a much larger threat to their health. We continuously worry for their welfare while they are away from home. At these crucial times, we have also options that will give our kids a sense of normalcy in their education as well as not to compromise their safety.

Here are some ideas for getting ready this school year 2020:

Home-schooling

A lot of parents may be hesitant to send their kids to school because of the health hazard that social interactions may bring but they could always go for a safe solution. Most of the schools around the world and curriculum experts are looking for an alternatives on how children will receive education, one of which is the Homeschooling program. It is also known as home education, the education of children at home or at a variety of places other than school. Home education is usually conducted by a parent, tutor, or an online teacher. It is also safe to say that now as your new role as a home-schooling parent, every day is take your kid to work day! Here are some benefits of home-schooling your kids: You can’t lesson our enthusiasm!

  • Focusing on life skills- teach them how to do house chores and be independent in the future.
  • Meeting current needs now- you can now prioritize their physical, mental, emotional and physical welfare
  • Customize approach in teaching- parents are encouraged to teach their child at the latter’s pace and learning readiness.
  • Saving money- there are lots of outside expenses that can be lessen if your kids are home-schooling such as bus fare, snacks fee, projects, public or private tuition fees, etc.
  • Learning factor- homes schooling makes the kids work for knowledge instead of grades.

ONLINE CLASS

Many of the students will now receive online classes due to the hazards caused by the virus. An online class is a course conducted over the Internet with the use of various devices such as PC, laptop, cell phone, tablet, etc. This type of education is not new to us but this method will be imposed by some schools. We certainly need to welcome the online class program because it will now be our lifeline in times like these. Many of us are worried of our kids’ welfare when they are outside our home. As natural as it seem, kids are kids, even we like it or not, they will have more close contact with others as they love to play, they love to hug, and talk to their friends thus violating the most important rule of all which is to apply social distancing protocols. This type of educational method will also be beneficial for both parents and child alike. Did you think that it would just Zoom?

  • Flexibility- students and educators have the freedom to juggle their task on a daily basis because they are not tied down with a fixed schedule.
  • Suits a variety of learning style-online learning caters to different types of learning styles
  • Reduced Cost- some of the expenses are reduced
  • Comfort- the comfort of a home might just make things better in the learning area
  • Pacing- students can learn in their own pace and time

Changes in routine often means facing different variables that may affect our everyday lives but at these point in time, it is best to embrace the new normal especially in the education department. We all want a sense of normalcy in our lives and the best way is to cope with these changes. But before choosing these options, it is still best to inquire more information from the school and check the school premises as to what is their best plan for this coming school year. Parents should also keep an open communication with the school so that they can effectively apply the possible changes in routines, teaching and learning methods. No matter of the changes that may come, the family that sticks together ace it together!

Are we all on the same page? All write-ty, just es-say your thoughts in the comments!
